I am a Vietnam veteran, and I have won national awards for both fiction and nonfiction. Following three combat deployments to the Gulf of Tonkin aboard an aircraft carrier, I obtained a Ph.D from the University of California, taught and published social science research for many years, and am now a retired Professor Emeritus. A world traveler who prefers the open skies of the Southwest, I live with my wife Melinda in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where I am a member of SouthWest Writers.
