The first Church in Pune, the Nosa Sennora De Immaculado Conceicas, also known as Immaculate Conception Church, or simply the City Church is now 225 years old.
Whenever someone visits the continent, a visit to the St Peter Basilica is always on the “to do list”. Whenever someone visits Goa, a visit to the Basilica @ Velha Goa is always on the “to do list”. The long lines admiring the visuals and the architecture probably have very little idea of the Church or the Patron Saint of Goa resting there.
It was time we decided to go on the “Church Trail” in Pune. The result is a five hundred page book that tells the story of some of the vintage Churches from Pune, supported with more than two hundred intriguing visuals from the Churches. We present interesting details of when, how and why these Churches came into being.

The best part, the documentary is also being released alongwith. The film made by Bidit Roy of a duration of approx 45 minutes draws on the book combined with interviews of the people that the author had done as part of his research. It showcases the heritage monuments in a literally new light.
