The Girl from Posolskoe is a story about Eric Lytlefeara who is on holiday, travelling on the Trans-Siberian railway from Vladivostok to Moscow. Shortly before the train’s departure from Vladivostok, a beautiful Russian woman entered his first class compartment. As the journey progressed, they discovered that they had many things in common. The winter weather caused the train to break down, close to where the woman’s family lived in Posolskoe near Lake Baikal. She invited Eric stay with her family until the weather improved.

Eric learned about Svetlana’s and his own family history after discussions with the older members of her family who fought in the Great Patriotic war.

When Eric departed Moscow not everything was what it had seemed to be.

Michael John Littlefair. During my research, I undertook extensive checks into the historical authenticity of the background settings of the novels, particularly in Russia. I obtained much of this background history first hand during my two trips to Russia. However, much of the information that one would expect to be in the public records in the UK has ‘disappeared.’
