HOLD TIGHT
Christmas is a time
Of joyful hearts hopeful eyes
As we reflect on times past
And look forward to surprise
Put aside the petty squabbles
And the pointless vendetta’s
And ask ourselves truly
Are we really no better
Spread your arms
With a welcoming smile
And defy all the ones
Who seek to defile
A moment of bliss
So heartily felt
Surrender to the moment
And let your heart melt
This may be the last time
For though we pretend
We really don’t know
When our journey will end
The blink of an eye
Is all it can take
For a flame to burn out
And a warm heart to break
So grab for that moment
With both of your hands
Hold on tight
Let you love expand
To cover all
With a blanket so warm
Go out of your way
To keep them from harm
Hold them so tight
And hold them near
Never let go
Of the ones you hold dear
Face a future together
With no shadow of fear
Have a happy Christmas
And a loving new year.
