Although through many ups and downs, many self-inflicted, God did not leave me alone; in fact, he clung to me even closer, using my family and friends that he placed in my life, making and molding me into what he would have me to be today.”

Leonard O. Spurling is a native of Dallas, TX. He Graduated from Lincoln High School in May of 1981. He attended Texas College in Tyler Texas Where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in music. After Teaching school for about 2 years, he decided to enter the East Texas Police Academy through Smith County Sheriff’s Dept. After working many areas in Law Enforcement, He accepted his call to preach God’s word as Pastor in various churches. He settled at East Chapel Christion Methodist Episcopal Church at 1011 Pacific Ave. Mineola, TX 75773 as Pastor.

Today He serves a dual role as a Deputy Sheriff for Smith County Sheriff’s Dept. in Tyler, TX. He is assigned as Bailiff for the 321st court(Family Court) where Judge Carole Clark Presides and as Pastor.
